In the small town of Sebastopol, tucked in the corner of a bygone apple canary, sits Scout West County— The Barlow’s new modern general store. With a passion for quality, ethically manufactured goods—local artists and proprietors Grace and Oliver Estrada noticed a need for quality menswear and home furnishings in West Sonoma County. After four years running her own local shop— Kitty Hawk Gallery— Grace craved creative expansion, to curate beyond wearables and objects for women and children, and teamed up with her husband and fellow artisan Oliver to build a singular space where the entire family can curate their wardrobes, home, and discover unique gifts for friends. Focusing on aesthetic sustainability and craftsmanship, Scout features a global to local collection of makers. From womenswear darlings Ilana Kohn, Lauren Manoogian and Martiniano to classic menswear champions Oak Street Boot Makers, Billiam Denim, and Corridor NYC— Scout covers all the bases. Goat Milk kidware and Misha and Puff pop next to Grace’s colorful paintings in the nursery nook, Brookes Boswell hats dot the shelves for sun-shy folks in need of shade and shelter, NA NIN fragrances and Yoke holistic indulge the senses, while Umé Studio, O-M ceramics, and Four Hands furniture wait for their forever home. Scout wants to help create inspiring environments with ethical objects because what we surround ourselves with impacts our lives and those who made it. All objects carry stories—the earth and hands that shaped it, the minds that made it, the hearts that crave it. It connects everything. It turns objects into possessions, artifacts into heirlooms, and houses into homes. Join Scout’s story. Meet the pooch the shop was named and discover your story.
